Ana Yranzo is a dedicated researcher at the Laboratory of Aquatic Systems, Center of Ecology and Evolution, Institute of Tropical Zoology and Ecology at the Central University of Venezuela (UCV). Her work is centered on coral reef monitoring and conservation, as well as the ecology and taxonomy of corals, octocorals, and sponges. Since 2009, Ana has been actively involved in coral reefs monitoring assessments, particularly within marine protected areas of Venezuela. Ana was honored as a Fellow of the EDGE of Existence Programme by the Zoological Society of London (ZSL) for the period of 2018-2020. Additionally, she received support from the Clear Reef Social Fund for Marine Research and Conservation in 2019.
