USD1.5 million to develop an AI-powered decision tool for coral reef conservation

CORDAP has launched a USD 1.5 million Call for Tenders to develop an AI-powered Decision Support System (DSS) designed to strengthen global coral reef conservation and restoration efforts.

The announcement comes amid the most severe global coral bleaching crisis ever recorded, with at least 84% of the world’s coral reefs exposed to bleaching-level heat stress in recent years. As climate pressures intensify, reef managers and conservation practitioners face increasingly complex decisions about where and how to act to maximize the effectiveness of limited resources.

To help address this challenge, CORDAP is seeking proposals to develop a high-impact, end-to-end decision support tool capable of integrating scientific data, environmental monitoring, and advanced analytics into practical guidance for reef managers, conservation practitioners, and policymakers.

The system will use advanced data integration and artificial intelligence to support planning, prioritization, and management decisions for coral reef conservation and restoration initiatives worldwide.
